...your life is your life...

As per Morgen:

Is the the Kampung Rally?

The Laughing Heart

your life is your life
don't let it be clubbed into dank submission
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is a light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can't beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are marvelous,
the gods wait to delight
in you.

Sharing some thoughts...

Ian,

I am at a crux in my life where I can go where the winds take me. I can go to nursing school anywhere. A rare opportunity in later life. So, if the winds take me to a place where we could all potentially settle, the better they are for it. Maybe nothing happens and, I end up digging deeper into Brooklyn bedrock. But, I'm willling to do the extra legwork, to get a good read off these winds.

The deadlines for all of Fall programs are coming right up, the sooner I have a direction the sooner I can lift anchor. I've already missed the deadline for Portland, ME. I'm looking at various other possibilities.

That's why I'm obsessed about this.

Portland vs Charleston = Skiing vs Surfing

Portland is 4 1/2 hours from Sugarbush ( I do have a helmet I have to use!).

It's 1 1/2 from the White Mountain National Forest, which I LOVE. I could be arm-wrestled into snowshoeing in the winter. If there is physical stuff for me to do in the winter then, I can endure it much better. I'm just saying...!

3 1/2 hours from Salty Dog Farm. Which means hanging out with the soon to be named girl and, oh yeah, her parents!

Portland also has pretty decent looking yoga studios. As does Charleston, for that matter! And it's a matter of minutes to the ocean in both places. I kind of like the idea of "The Family's" progeny having a little lilt to their speech!

Luis here too. Still thinking/feeling the word Kampung. It has connotations with kamp and pungent, and camping. Sounds like a good word for da smellee bundle...

Just to link to the "home schooling" front though: I am also game, and hunter, and carrot, for this venture. The climate and the earth are so ready for reactivating what i'd rather re-call "community schooling".

I wonder if Kampung could include, somehow, its own business, as it lives.

Could Kampung Spaces become, say, "community schooling" places as well....?

Could our multiple spaces become spaces where we pursue our passions and businesses,
sharing them with children of all ages, who'd come to strengthen our locales, both physically,
intellectually, and economically, et al, as they pass by them, in a more fluent way than it is now done in both the private and public schools of the present?

I'm sure you must have spoken about this already.

Anyhow, it feels good to brainstorm.

Obsessions

As you can see, I'm is a little obsessed. I found Blogger infinitesimally easier to use (Jesse, please don't be offended!). You are all authors so, feel free to add. Adding Pages and links is a little tricky. Ask if you have questions or, explore away.

Gotta get off the computer. But, damn this search is fun!
